Mirsky, Mark. “The G & G on Blue Hill Avenue.”
March 7, 1971
Boston Globe. In the article, the Dorchester-born novelist writes, “[Boston is] a city of grotesques, of midgets, morons, half-wits. A holy city full of maddened, desperate, punch-drunk pilgrims. The faces of the old are worn away by anger and fear into the cruelest expressions. The bodies hunch protectively like turtles, eyes water with disgust. Everyone aspires to be ancient, gnarled.”
